I always find it funny when someone boldly claims in their speech that they are the ones that got a couple together. In this case it's true! Joey's best man, Matt was in fact responsible for Erin and Joey meeting. Erin was new to Denver, CO and decided to meet up with her co-worker Sheryl and her husband Matt (who was Joey's Bestman) and Joey for a Sooners vs Longhorns game at a local bar. Erin and Joey had such a great time getting to know each other that she ended up tagging along with them that whole weekend and when it was time for Joey to go back to Texas, they exchanged phone numbers and the rest is history.
Erin and Joey tied the knot at Stone Meadow Gardens in Clark Summit, PA. This was my first time here and it was beautiful! I love getting to photograph at new places! I know leading up to the day we were all watching the weather forecast closely and hoping for the best since it was originally supposed to rain all day! We were so happy when the rain decided not to join the party until the actual party started. We were able to capture their nuptials outside as well as their formal photos.
Their love for each other is infections and we truly enjoyed being their to capture it! On our way out for night photos, Erin asked us how long Dan and I have been together (20 years together, almost 16 married, gosh I sound old lol) and asked us (along with the longest together couple of the anniversary dance) what the secret is to a long and happy marriage. At the time I said to laugh and forgive. After thinking about it some more, I know one thing that helped us is to recognize how the other person shows and feels loved. Going out of your way to "out love" each other in the way they feel loved and to always put each others happiness first! If you have ever read the 5 Love Languages you know exactly what I'm talking about!!! If you haven't, I highly recommend picking up a copy!!!
Erin and Joey, congratulations!!! Thank you so very much for allowing us to be part of your wedding!
